THE FOHER Co COMMUNITY IS EVERYTHING.
When Queensland sisters and triathletes Hannah and Kylie founded and launched FOHER Co at the Noosa Triathlon in 2014, it was to bring fun, vibrant, comfortable and stylish garments to market along with a passion to support, encourage and inspire women competing in triathlon. The girls had no real idea what FOHER might become, and instead just hoped that someone would buy something that day!
Five years later, FOHER has taken on a life of its own and is a recognisable name in triathlon in Australia. Under Hannah's and Kylie's watchful eyes, a growing base of incredibly loyal and passionate customers who believe in the original vision of the Company Founders have organically supported and grown FOHER into a self-sustaining business full of family, Community and inclusivity.
As one amazing FOHER Co Ambassador recently said, ‘No matter where you are, if you’ve got any bit of FOHER kit on, and you happen across someone else with FOHER kit on... you’ve instantly got a connection and you know it’s going to be warm, welcoming, and supportive beyond anything you’ve had before’. Historically, the only female performance endurance apparel available in Australia were modified male garments, causing issues such as painful chafe and hotspots, as well as being incredibly unflattering and doing little to enhance confidence let alone performance. In one word, hideous. FOHER was one of the first Australian triathlon brands founded on the premise that female multisport athletes of all shapes, sizes, ages and abilities deserve ethically and sustainably manufactured garments designed for women, by women who themselves compete and understand the specific issues women in the sport faced. Using premium Italian fabrics and components, featuring the latest technological innovations, FOHER garments are designed and constructed with Community, performance, efficient comfort and style in mind. Ultimately, FOHER takes the guess work out of choosing what to wear for triathlon training and racing by being the go-to for comfortable, stylish and technical performance apparel for men and women.
FOHER Co was the first 100% Australian owned, female-specific triathlon brand to successfully launch in Australia and address a significant gap in the market for comfortable, stylish and flattering performance garments that were bright and fun, and designed by women for women. Also lacking was a strong Community and social platform that supported, inspired, encouraged and empowered women by providing them with a sense of identity and belonging. FOHER was also the first Australian triathlon brand to launch an Ambassador Program and provide opportunity for women in triathlon to truly connect. In 2020, FOHER has 232 male and female ‘Class of 2020’ Ambassadors globally.
Whilst customer loyalty is high and feedback suggests FOHER garments are number one for comfort, FOHER is regularly complimented for its inclusive Community. Such feedback provides evidence that the FOHER core business values to support, encourage and empower women and men into an active lifestyle are recognised. Paramount to the FOHER philosophy is to give back to the Community. FOHER was the first triathlon brand to initiate event activations such as the FOHER Roll-out (pre-race social bike ride and coffee) and Braid Station (where FOHER Ambassadors offer competitors free hair braiding or ‘battle-braids’). These ever popular activations are unique to FOHER, and represent fantastic inclusive meet and greet opportunities that enhance customer loyalty and connection.
